Teacher of English as a Second Language and Examiner
I’m an experienced teacher of English as a Second Language, qualified through Cambridge CELTA and TEFL. I began teaching teenagers in 2005 in summer camps in Poland, before working in Canterbury English Language centre in Spain for 14 years.
Here I gained invaluable and varied experience of teaching English as a foreign language to all ages and levels, and preparing students for Cambridge Proficiency C2, Advanced C1, First B2, Preliminary B1, Key A2, IELTS, and school exams. At Canterbury I also held the role of exams coordinator, running mock speaking exams for all the school’s candidates.
Alongside teaching, I began working for Cambridge English in 2012 as a speaking examiner for Advanced C1, First B2, Preliminary B1, Key A2, Starters, Movers and Flyers in various schools around Madrid.
During the Covid lockdown I took the opportunity to re-train and gained a qualification in teaching online. I spent some months teaching English to Chinese students online through iTutor, which gave me experience of working with Asian students.
In 2023 I started working as an examiner for Cambridge International, mostly working with 8021 As Level English General Paper, but also 0511 IGCSE English as a Second Language, 0500 / 0990 IGSCE First Language English, 0057 Primary Checkpoint and 0475 IGCSE Literature in English.
